 I'll start with the latest and the most fresh experiment made in Kannada .. Ulidavaru Kandanthe ..

Whenever we start talking about Kannada movies, the acknowledgement goes to Mungaru Male team. They made Kannada movies look good to say the least.. 
When we all grew up, we watched Hollywood movies like crazy and worshipped few of them like gods.. Now, consider one such guy wanting to make a movie and wants to show the world that he was inspired by legends. He takes a storyline of his own, makes the way his teachers would have done it.. At the end, what you would get is a good movie.
The first chase sequence has a background of any Quentin tarentino movie. Things that follow are: Martin Scorsese way of killing people. Chapters in the movie like the one in Kill Bill. Scarface meets Agneepath. Departed re-executed. Best of all, sin city in Kannada! I was lost in it all, thinking, did he just tried all the best work in a single Kannada movie?! 
I don't wanna talk about the story or the production values or the technicality in the movie. But it's the tribute to those movies is what made me like it. Had it been edited a little, you wouldn't have a single complaint.

ಬೇಡುವೆನು ವರವನ್ನು , ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಫಿಲಂ ತೆಗಿಯೆಂದು .. ಕಡೆ ತನಕ ಮರಿಯಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕ ..

ಎದ್ದೇಳು  ಮಂಜುನಾಥ  ಫಿಲಂ ನಲ್ಲಿ  ತಬಲ  ನಾಣಿ ದು  ಒಂದು  ಡೈಲಾಗ್  ಇತ್ತು .. "ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ  ಅವರಿಗೆ  ಕೆಪ್ಯಾಸಿಟಿ  ಇತ್ತು .. ಎರಡು  ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಂಡ್ರು .. ಜೈಸಿಕೊಂಡ್ರು  .. ಹಾಗಂತ  ಎಲ್ಲಾರು  ಮಾಡೋದಿಕ್ಕೆ  ಆಗತ್ತಾ .. ನಮ್ಮ  ಹುಡುಗ  ನೋಡಿ .. ಎರಡು  ಮಾಡ್ತೀನಿ  ಅಂತ  ಹೋಗಿ  ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು  ಎರಡು  ವರುಷ  ಆಯಿತು  ಆಚೆ  ಬರೋದಿಕ್ಕೆ ... ರಿಲೀಸ್  ಆದ್ಮೇಲೆ ಏನಾಯ್ತು   ಅಂತ  ನಿಮಗೆ  ಗೊತ್ತಲ್ವ "
 
ಜೋಗಯ್ಯ  ಮತ್ತೆ  ಸೂಪರ್  ನಡುವೆ  ಇರುವ  ಒಂದೇ  ಒಂದು  ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ  ಅಂದ್ರೆ  ಉಪೇಂದ್ರ ನೇ ... ಜೋಗಿ  ಎಲ್ಲಿ  ಮುಗಿತು  ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ  ಶುರು  ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಂಡು   ಸೂಪರ್  ಆಗಿ  ತೆಗಿತೀನಿ  ಅಂತ  ಹೋದರು .. ಮಟಾಶ್  ಅಷ್ಟೇ .. ಇನ್ನ  ಜೋಗಯ್ಯ  ಸೀಕ್ವೆಲ್  ಬರಬೇಕು  ಅಂದ್ರೆ  ಬೇರೆ  ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟರ್  ದಾರಿ  ತೋರಿಸಬೇಕು  ಪ್ರೇಂ ಗೆ .. ಶಿವಣ್ಣ  ಆಕ್ಟಿಂಗ್  ಸೂಪರ್ .. ತಗ್ಲಾಕ್ಕೊಂಡೆ,  ಕುರಿ  ಕುಯ್ಯೊಂಗಿಲ್ಲ  ಬೆಸ್ಟ್  ಸಾಂಗ್ಸ್ .. ಸಿಲ್ಲಿ  ಲಲ್ಲಿ  ಗ್ಯಾಂಗ್  ಅವರನ್ನೇ  ಇಲ್ಲಿ  ಬೇರೆ  ಬೇರೆ  ಪಾತ್ರ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ  ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು  ಉತ್ತಮ .. heroine ಗೆ  ಕನ್ನಡ ನೇ   ಬರಲ್ಲ , ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ  ಉತ್ತರ  ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದವಳು ಅಂತ  ಬೇರೆ ತೋರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದಾರೆ ... ಅವರು ಮಾತಾಡಿದಾಗೆಲ್ಲ  ಧಾರವಾಡ್  ಕಡೆಯವರು  ಪರ  ಪರ  ಪರ  ಅಂತ  ಕೆರ್ಕೊಂಡು  ಬಿಡ್ತಾರೆ ..
 
ಪ್ರೇಂ ಗೆ  ಈ  ಮಾತು  "ನಿಮವ್ವ  ಹೇಳವರೆ , ಒಳ್ಳೆ  ಫಿಲಂ  ತೆಗೆದು  ದುಡಿ , ಈ  ಕಿತ್ತೋಗಿರೋ  ಫಿಲಂ ಗಳು  ಬೇಡ  ಅಂತ ".. ಇರೋ  ಬರೋ ಸೈಡ್  ಆಕ್ಟರ್ಸ್ ಗೆಲ್ಲ  ಒಳ್ಳೆ  ಬಟ್ಟೆ  ಉಡ್ಸಿದರೆ  ಹೀರೋ  ಮಾತ್ರ  ಕಿತ್ತೋಗಿರೋ  ಬಟ್ಟೆ  ಹಾಕೊಂಡೆ  ಮೆರಿಯೋ  ಪ್ರಸಂಗ  ಏನು  ಅಂತ  ನಾ  ಕಾಣೆ !! ಎಲ್ಲದಕ್ಕಿಂತ  ಮೇಲಾಗಿ , ಫಿಲಂ  ರಿಲೀಸ್  ಆಗೋದಿಕ್ಕೆ  ಎರಡು  ದಿನ  ಮುಂಚೆ  ಪ್ರೆಸ್  ರಿಲೀಸ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ  ಇದು  ರೌಡಿಸಂ  ಫಿಲಂ  ಅಲ್ಲ  ಅಂತ  ಬೇರೆ ಹೇಳಿದಾರೆ .. ಕನ್ನಡ   ಫಿಲಂ  ನೋಡಿ  ಬೈದಿದಿನಿ .. ಯಾರಾದ್ರೂ  ಮತ್ತೆ  ಲೈಫು ಇಷ್ಟೇನೆ  ಹಾಡಿನ  ಸಾಲುಗಳು  ಹೇಳಿದ್ರಿ  ಅಂದ್ರೆ , ಜೋಗಯ್ಯ  ನ  ಬ್ಯಾಕ್  ಟು  ಬ್ಯಾಕ್  ತೋರಿಸಿಬಿಡ್ತೀನಿ .. ಶಿವಣ್ಣ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ನೋಡ್ಬೇಕು .. ಬೇರೆ  ಏನು  ಹೇಳ್ಕೊಳೋ  ತರಹ  ಇಲ್ಲ ..  2D ನಲ್ಲಿ  ನೋಡಿದ  ನಾನೇ  ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ  ಬರೆದಿರಬೇಕಾದ್ರೆ , 3D ನಲ್ಲಿ  ನೋಡಿದವರು  ಸಂತೋಷ್  ಹೆಗ್ಡೆ  ಹತ್ತಿರ  ಪೇಪರ್  ಇಸ್ಕೊಂಡು  ಬಂದು  ಬರೀಬೇಕು  ಅಷ್ಟೇ .. 1000 ಪೇಜ್  ಕೂಡ  ಕಮ್ಮಿ  ಆಗಬಹುದು ..

And here comes to an end.. the epic journey.. most probably it all began 10 years ago.. amazing finish to the character harry potter.. 3D made it more magical and enchanting.. not a great fan or follower, but having watched from the start, it was worth ...

Hmm.. ಪಂಚಾಮೃತ  ದಲ್ಲಿ  ಎಲ್ಲ  ಇದ್ದು ಹಾಲು  ಇಲ್ದೆ  ಇರೋ  ಒಂದು  ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ  ಇವತ್ತು .. ಪುನೀತ್ , ಅನಂತ್  ನಾಗ್ , ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯ , ರಂಗಾಯಣ  ರಘು .. ಹೆವಿ  ಲೋಕಲ್  ಕನ್ನಡ , ತುಳು  ಮಿಕ್ಸ್  ಆಗಿರೋ  ಭಾಷೆ .. ಎಲ್ಲ  ಇದ್ದು , ಈ  ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ  ಎರಡು  ಮಿಸ್ಸಿಂಗ್  ಇತ್ತು .. ಹೇಳ್ಬೇಕು  ಅಂದ್ರೆ , ತುಂಬಾನೇ  ಮಿಸ್ಸಿಂಗ್  ಇತ್ತು .. ಆದ್ರೆ  ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ  ಎರಡು .. ಕಥೆ , ಹಾಡುಗಳ  ತೋರಿಸೋ  ವಿಧಾನ .. ಕಥೆ  ಬಗ್ಗೆ  ಮಾತಾಡದೆ  ಇದ್ದರೆ  ಒಳ್ಳೇದು  ಅಂತ  ಹೇಳೋಣ  ಅನ್ಕೊಂಡೆ .. ಆದ್ರೆ  ಅದು  ಹೇಳೋದಿಕ್ಕು  ಕಥೆಂತ  ಏನಾದ್ರು  ಇರಬೇಕಿತ್ತು .. ಇದು  ಎರಡರಲ್ಲಿ  ಒಂದು  ರೀತಿಯಾದ ಕಥೆ .. ಗುರುಗಳು  , ಪಂಚರಂಗಿ  ಅನ್ನೋ  ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ , lifeu ishtene ಅಂತ  ತೋರ್ಸಿದ್ರು .. ಈಗ  ಶಿಷ್ಯ  lifeu istene ಅಂತ  ಹೇಳಿ , ಜೀವನ ದಲ್ಲಿ  ಹೀಗೂ  ಆಗತ್ತೆ  ಅಂತ  ಹೇಳ್ತಿದಾರೆ .. ನಿರ್ದೇಶನಕ್ಕೆ  ಮೊದಲ  ಬಾರಿ  ಕಾಲು  ಇಟ್ಟವರು   ಜಯಸೋದು  ಬಹಳ ನೆ  ಕಮ್ಮಿ .. ಪವನ್  ಈಸಿದಾರೆ , ಜಯಸಿದಾರೆ    .. ಫಿಲಂ  workout ಆಗತ್ತೆ .. ಎಷ್ಟು  ಜನ  ಫಿಲಂ  ನೋಡಿದ  ರಾತ್ರಿ  ಹೋಗಿ , ಮನಸಿನ  dvd ಪ್ಲೇಯರ್  ನಲ್ಲಿ  ಯಾವ  dvd ಹಾಕೊಂತರೋ  ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ .. ಪರ  ಪರ  ಅಂತ  ಕೆರ್ಕೊಳ್ಳೋದನ್ನೆ  ಹೊಸ  ರೀತಿ  ತೋರ್ಸಿದರೆ .. Btw, ಇನ್ನು  ಹಳೆ  ಹುಡುಗಿ  ನೆನಪಲ್ಲಿ  ಇರೋವರಿಗೆ , move on suckers..

Contagion

Documentaries are supposed to be like that, show the truth and make u think.. CONTAGION was both.. Its all about how a simple natural phenomenon can create havoc and disaster and yet we can't blame anything. Its so convincingly made that u actually believe things like this has happened and will happen.. Watch it not for the star cast, but for the story, background score and the screenplay.

Shaitan

Finally saw 'Shaitan'. I think it would have been much better had i watched it in a hall. Nevertheless, the movie is typical Anurag kashyap kind. Story, screenplay, acting and music, guess one of the perfect blend in recent times. Can say must watch if u r not fan of any of the leads or director Bejoy Nambiar or Anurag Kashyap. Watch out for the tracks - remix version of khoya khoya chand, title track, josh and fareeda.

Rockstar

We have this dearth of Indian Rock Bands being able to achieve what others have been doing all this while. Then there comes a title which at the least portrays such thoughts on the silver screen, trying to inspire the evolving ones. Alas, that's what I thought the movie to be. Coming to the movie, personally RK has surely gone leaps and bounds in this movie and he can surely take an award. ROCKSTAR - Rock is Nargis Fakri and Star(s) are RK, ARR, Cinematography. Rating wise, 1st half 4.5/5 and 2nd half 2/5. Trust me, half the crowd just waited for something to come up even when the credits were rolling. Somewhere during the 2nd half, I felt it's a new version of DevD.

The Adventures of TinTin

There can be only 2 reasons to watch the Animated version of Tintin. One, you are not a fan of him or you never read the books or you have no clue about the character. Two, you are a fan of him. Either ways, you'll like this Tintin. Best part, live-action performances by actors in some scenes. The unicorn's texture on the model ship can illustrate the amount of precision that's been gone into movie making. Very understandable that the movie is getting very good reviews all over. 3 comics as a movie in the planned trilogy seems to have a very good start. Just lay back, relax and let the movie unfold.

RGV ki Aag

Lucky are those who haven't seen AB senior's Agneepath. And blessed are those who are yet to watch the tribute to the AB's version. You can't be double lucky to miss both, can you? And especially if you are one of those who has seen the first one and felt, how on earth this could be a cult?? The best reaction post watching it today was a comparison made to RGV ki Aag. Going by the kind of movies that is getting released in Bollywood, it's better to stick to Tollywood(Telugu industry). And btw, one common thing between the Ind-Aus series and the movie Agneepath is that even though it sucks big time, we still watch it. The only thing that I wished was Salman Khan/AB junior instead of Hrithik Roshan, as SK would have made it a big dumb blockbuster and AB would have added one more to his flop flicks. I would like to get a review from those who have seen Players and followed it up with Agneepath this week. Better movie to watch is definitely Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy or even better to watch Sherlock series(British BBC-1).

The Artist

This was a master piece and deserved to be an Oscar winner .. These set of reviews were published , in 2012 .

"With pleasure" - 2 golden words, with a little bit of French accent and a lot of acting and a lot of directing and great co-stars. That's "The Artist" for you. Try not to miss it at any nearby hall. The emptier the hall it is even better. Feels like, for the very first time, to have watched an Oscar movie worth the award, with him getting the award making it so special. Its nice, well planned, well narrated, simple yet worth all the hype. "Be careful with your pride, sir. Miss Miller is a very good person" - Standout dialogue from the movie. Now, waiting for Hugo!

Prologue

Its been a dream to chronicle the events in a techie's life and what could Techie be apart from it .. When I started exploring myself , I found I've a skill in writing .. Hence this blog to put forward my thoughts ..

Why Koffee with Kishore ?
I'm a techie , as I told already , wanted to take up  writing and I'm more of a movie buff , eyeing every detail of it .. And what else could make a better subject than reviewing the movies !! This has reviews of many movies , which were published in various other social networking sites .. It will definitely make an interesting read and I will keep posting more reviews regularly in future ..

But then , my next question was , what do I name this blog as .. Many names popped up , none could make an impression .. Techies are very creative ( ROFL ) while traveling , thanks to software life - for giving us at least few hours of a me-time .. One such golden hour gave me a wonderful name , Koffee with Kishore .. what else can make things interesting than a cup of coffee ? This blog will surely give you a casual reading , which you can read over a cup of coffee ... So sit back , sip your coffee and enjoy reading .. !!
